What has caused this lower stomach muscle pain and thigh muscle pain?

i haven’t done any exercise yet my stomach and leg muscles (back of my thighs) hurt like hell, as if iv been working out hard, but i really haven’t. it started yesterday morning when i woke up, and the day before i had planned to do some sit ups but got distracted, yet now I’m in pain and it hurts so much to move around, please help! i need to know whats caused this, iv done nothing differently than usual :( thanks in advance!

Chosen Answer:

the answer is muscle spasm , where you, have never used those
muscles for a long time ,
you have got muscles in your bottom of your buttocks/ thighs it

sounds like you have pulled them.

your muscles all stem from your neck/shoulders ,to every part of

your body ,

you, have alot of muscles in your buttocks , going down your thighs

you, have tendons , cartilages, ligaments in your body.

i suggest you leave off the exercising fo a while ,

if you, do want to do sit ups, then i would say to you ,

the best way is; to put your feet under a armchair /settee.
and keep your knees bent.

it will all so prevent problems with your back , in later life.

start slowly and build up , do 1 to begin with , and then add 1 extra

once every 2 days.

never do too many straight off ,
that is where people make the biggest mistake of all.

every day , so your muscles get used to it.

How do I reduce muscle pain?

Yesterday, I had six back-to-back lacrosse games with only a ten minute break. My abdominal muscles hurt, the area above my butt hurts (sorry I had to say that) and my hamstrings hurt. I am aware that it’s normal to have pain after working out and things like that, but how do I lessen the pain WITHOUT medication?

Chosen Answer:

The easiest drug free treatment is take a warm (not hot but you may need to add some to keep the water warm)) bathe and just soak since so many areas are involved. After you relax a bit in the tub then you need to get out a couple of ice packs. If you don’t have these then you can make one by putting ice in a ziplock bag placed into another ziplock bag to prevent leakage. Get out the remote and lay back on the couch and find something to watch on tv. Put the ice bag on your tummy. You should have a pillow under your knees to support them and you can place ice to your hamstrings on this. Rest, ice and elevation are the key ingredients to getting better faster. Even though you don’t want medication if you do decide to take some it should be Motrin (unless allergic or other reactions) since Motrin has antiinflammatory effect that other pain meds don’t. Good luck!

Chosen Answer:

Genertic, Any that u take for years runs the risk of Liver damage but it takes a lot, ur Liver purifies the toxins from the body, I would not worry right now but later down the line it can, Soma is a pain medication but used for several other things. It’s never a good idea to crush or chew pills unless perscribed by the doc. Best of Luck

What specific word should I use in the english language that means “Muscle Pain”?

For example, my muscle is hurting, I want to let me friend know about it, what should I say?

Does “Myofascial Pain Syndrome” is not the one I’m seeking, I’m looking for the ONE-Word that means Muscle Pain if possible.

Chosen Answer:

Cramping is muscle pain when the muscles are contracting in a painful way.

Or just say muscle pain. You don’t need a fancy word to describe it.

Isolated Calf Muscle Pain – How Long does it take a Strain to Heal?

In February I began to have pain in my calf muscle and I had just started taking birth control and I thought it was a blood clot – well I had an ultrasound done and that was not the case – it came back clear. I am off of the birth control – I was on it for less than 30 days. The pain has continued on and off – I wear heels at work and had to run up and down steps (14) at least ten times a day and then I would go to the gym and work my legs (definately overworked it). Since then have had three weeks of no running up and down the stairs and have stopped working out. I I went back to my doctor and he felt my leg announced there was no blood clot (since I needed reassurance) and had an MRI done about two weeks ago and there was no torn muscle, but he said I strained it.
I just returned from the beach – five days of walking on the sand and all over Wilmington, NC and driving ten hours. In the last four days I would say I have had little to no sleep (gotta love the chronic insomia), have been packing to move, helping mom left and move things for a garage sale and went out in heels on Saturday (which I regretted in the first hour). The pain seems to have isolated its self to the corner of my muscle, where the muscles curves, a very dull ache. It is aching again and and then I get sharp twinges down the muscle and the back of my knee is now starting to ache. Has anyone else had a strain longer than four months – I figure it cannot heal because I keep overusing it. Any suggestions or comments? My doctor suggested that I might get some physical therapy done.

Chosen Answer:

I agree with your doctor you need to have physical therapy. You’re going to have to take a break for a few days to let the muscles rest and recover. If you continually abuse the muscles they will not heal.

This is the first place your body targets when you are dehydrated. Drink lots of water! I recommend purified water and mineral water mixed 50/50. The mineral water is going to put back into the muscles what they are losing on a daily basis.

I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day. Realize that exercise, ambient temperature, and state of health affect the water needs of your body. One tip: it is healthier to drink a sports drink or water than fruit juice, soda, coffee, or milk.

In the evening take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. Afterwards , if you have something shaped like a cylinder and made out of hard material (think of a large rolling pin you would use for pizza dough or something) place it under your leg and push down and roll it back and forth…this should massage the spasms out of your leg. It will hurt while you’re doing it, but more so the type of pain that actually feels good, in the long run.

I am currently on probation (long story)…?

Anyway, I recently pulled a muscle in my leg and was given some somas (carisoprodol) by a friend of mine. I honestly NEVER even thought about the possibility of a drug test popping up (dumb, I know) and I didn’t take the medication to get high either so save those comments. However, the next day when I reported, you guessed it, I was tested. I don’t know how long it takes them to get the results…but does soma show on probation screens? I’m freaking out here. And please no “well you should have thought of that blah blah blah” stuff, because trust me, I know. Also, if you can find any actual links for any info add them…it would be really helpful.

Chosen Answer:

Make up a clever story about how it got in your system. Your officer will never suspect that you are trying to hide something.

Here’s an idea….there was a crushed pill and you confused it with parmesan cheese and ate it on your spaghetti.

Chosen Answer:

Do you still have your appendix? That could be it, but in any case you must go and see a doctor, it could be something very serious. Don’t drag, make your move and have it checked.

Painkiller Addiction: IF you’ve been there personally, or have credible knowledge of same, can you answer this?

I have a VERY good Friend, we’ll call her Sheree, 44, who has been taking Painkillers daily for over 6 months. These pills consist of mainly Hydrocodones, “Vicodin” and similar derivatives, as well as occasional “supplements” of Soma and Norcos. Sheree does indeed have some painful afflictions for which she requires these Painkillers, (Kidney Stones, Bladder Infections, Ovarian Cysts, & more.) She begins taking them when she awakens, then every 2-3 hours, throughout the day. In addition, Sheree also ingests a daily regime of Xanex & Carisoprodol pills for “anxiety” issues, in the morning and throughout the day.
When I expressed concern to Sheree that she might become addicted, she was quite adamant that she #1, was NOT addicted, and #2, would know IF she was addicted to either pill regime!
I have only recently learned that Carisoprodol is, alone and by itself, very addictive.
MY QUESTION: In your opinion, are the odds good that Sheree IS addicted to the Painkillers???
If so, what can she do about it, per a semi-painless “Detox”? She is a single mother w/3 children.

Chosen Answer:

Hi there,

I am addicted to Dihydrocodeine. I cannot function without it. If I miss one dose then it feels like my body is closing down. The pain is excruciating!

My guess is that she IS addicted to them and I can openly admit I am.

I take 15 pills a day (Anti-Depressants, Anti-Psychotic, Anti-Anxiety, Weight Loss, Sleeping) and I know I cannot function without them.

If she NEEDS them then she really needs to carry on taking them as they serve a purpose to her ailments.

Does she want to come off of these pills or is it you who is wanting her to?

She can only make that decision for herself. Maybe she is happy taking these meds.

The meds can make her better. I know that Xanax is very addictive but that weighed up against having the Anxiety comes up tops every time!

The only detox she can do is either going cold turkey or coming down gradually off each med.

Good luck!

How do I ask my doctor to increase my pain medication, I been on the same dose for 8 years it is not providing?

How do I ask my doctor to increase my pain medication, I been on the same dose for 8 years it is not providing relief from my chronic lower back pain and I think I need a dose adjustment.I currently take lortab 5mg,500 twice a day, this is not bringing relief, like how it use too. I am afraid the dr will think I am just drug seeking, I do have a chronic lower back pain and calf muscle pain. I take 3 muscle relaxers same dose for 8 years, 3 carisoprodol 300 mg 3 times a day . I tryed taking take lortab 5mg,500 3 times a day and this really did provide relief from the serve pain
, but 2 are just not doing what they did 8 years ago. Is it wrong to ask for a dose adjustment ?

Chosen Answer:

Just like with so many others:
Narcotics and muscle relaxers are not good long term solutions to chronic pain. That is what you should talk to your provider about!! He/She is doing you a disservice by providing narcotics and muscle relaxers for a long period of time without addressing the underlying cause of your problem.

Please, tell me if i should mix some of the above drugs that i own, so i can get the condition that i desire.
Please listen.
I’ve got Aspergers Syndrome. This means that i will live my life alone… ‘emptiness’ to the end.
I want something to happend. I envy those with serious mental illnesses.
I just want their lifes. I would like to exchange my life with theirs.

I know i will regret, suffer etc. but i WANT it.

Chosen Answer:

It does sound like you are in a lot of emotional pain.
You do not need to have brain damage in order to take a long break. You can stop doing everything without brain damage. Maybe you need to rest and think about ways to help yourself feel better. It is OK to do nothing if that is what you feel like doing. You don’t have to be alone with your pain. Therapy/medication can be a new beginning for you. You can do things the way you choose. You are in charge. Please don’t hurt yourself. Best Wishes to you.
