I have tried resting, i have tried massage. Nothing is working. the feeling is like i have a cramped muscle and when i stretch it out, it stays that way and then it feels like it snaps back. and it hurts to move back from that position.
Acetaminophen (tylenol) usually works best out of the OTC medications for lower back pain. It stops your body from noticing the pain.
NSAIDs also work well. They reduce inflammation, so if your muscles are swollen, causing pain then these might be the way to go. These are either Ibuprofen (advil, motrin), or Naproxen (aleve).
