I have a basketball game tomorrow but I was working out yesterday and now today they are so sore. Today I tried shooting a basketball and it hurt like crazy. I arm is bent because when I try to make them straight they hurt. It hurts whenever I move my arm. Does anyone know how I can quickly kill off this pain?
Chosen Answer:
Hot tub water soak then massage and stretch the muscles gently when warm.
NSAIDS pain relievers such as aspirin, ibuprofin, naproxen. Supposedly a few athletes take them before sporting events to prevent muscle inflammation. This is how a few athletes perform like super humans for such long periods of time. This is not recommended though because an athlete may not feel a severe injury pain until later after a workout or sport.

What ever you do, keep moving. Hopefully the soreness will fade soon. Try icing or heat to the affected areas (whichever works) and OTC pain relievers like ibuprofen (advil, motrin) or naproxen (aleve). If you are over 25, you could also consider aspirin-effective and cheap. Not for the under 25 crowd though. Good Luck.
