I am having shoulder pain after getting hit during a soccer match?

We were going for the ball when we had a shoulder to shoulder challenge and a few places on my arm went numb for a couple of seconds. Now I am having pain when I lift my arm over my head. The pain is towards the top of the deltoid. I am worried because over the summer I dislocated my shoulder playing baseball and had to go to physical therapy and some visits to acupuncture to fix. The pain resembles the pain I had when I dislocated my shoulder but the bone isnt out of place this time. Any ideas on what I could have done to it?

Chosen Answer:

you should try acupuncture! it does wonders! i’ll try to explain what oriental medicine thinks of dislocated shoulders and every symptom that comes afterward: you dislocated your shoulder because your hamstring and muscles energy (chi energy) around that area is deficient (=low) so it couldn’t withstand the pressure it was put under when you dislocated your shoulder. the it poped back into place but the energy didn’t recover. your body’s defensive energy (wei energy) tried to help and it got stuck around the area because it cant do much when your hamstring and muscle energy is deficient. so the pain that comes afterwards is basicly from the constant accumulation of wei energy around the points where it first got hit when you dislocated. i can almost bet that the pain that you feel its not easy to locate but its more of a cold current arround the area going down along the arm and up to the spine and neck. so, in accupunctre, what they’re going to do is rearange your chi energy that is afecting the hamstring and muscles of that area. right in the first consult you’ll feel positive effects such as more mobility without almost any pain. it’s a fairly easy treatment and it has a great rate of success. the needles dont hurt at all!!! hope it helps!!

My girlfriend left me unexpectedly and everything was going well?

So I met this girl 8 months ago through a friend we talked for about a month got to know each other and everything was great, after about a month we made it official and she was my girlfriend, also I have no family but one sister, I lost both my parents, mom 3 yrs ago and dad this January, she made life so great for me especially with the Hard times I was going through. I treated her like a princess btw( I’m known to be way to super nice to woman) we went on trips I surprised her many times I always tried to keep our relationship alive and fun, I’m also a chronic pain patient that suffers from severe back and muscle pains and go to pain managment and take narcotic pain medication as prescribed which was never a problem, we’ve had some ups and downs but not anything that’s not normal, I’ve always done my best and got out of my way to make her happy as possible and money was never an issue. To get to the point I’m 24 she’s 19 I don’t have 40 hour a week job but inherited several properties and make a very well income but In the past few months I’ve been financially struggling but not to the point where I would ever let her pay for dates etc….it’s a tough time but I will get through it… So about a week ago I was released from the hospital and I’ve noticed for the past month or so something isn’t the same with the way she acts, so I get a text saying I’m not doing anything with my life and don’t go to school or work, where I don’t have the time to work a job because of all the situations from the past and my pains, but I still reciave a very great income every month and am trying my best to make things better. And then I got a text from her saying have a wonderful life and another one a couple days after saying she was sorry it had to end that way and don’t mean to hurt me and she was mad at the moment. I haven’t contacted her since and she called me a couple times and I ignored her texts.. I just dot know what to do I’m lost any advice will greatly be appreciated

What can I do to relieve the pain on back of my head from neck muscle tension?

I injured my neck a long time ago and I have had problems every since. What can I do to make my muscles relax/ ease the pain?

Chosen Answer:

OK more than likely, when you injured yourself, you caused a misalignment in your neck. This will cause additional stress and strain on the muscles in your neck that will end up causing pain.

I would recommend that you see a chiropractor. they specialize at being able to diagnose what is going on and more than likely they can correct the situation.

I hope this information helps. I wish you the best.

I feel extreme fatigue, back pains and stiff muscles?

I have been to my GP however they claim my fatigue is due to my muscle pain. This has been going on for a year and I would like some suggestions. Thanks :)

Chosen Answer:

hello. i would see a different GP as you aren’t getting anywhere with this one. have you had any blood tests done? you may be deficient in iron, vitamin B12, potassium or vitamin D there is also a blood test to check for muscle damage. if you are no further ahead then ask for a referral to a rheumatologist.

you may have disc or joint problems in your vertebrae or you may have chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia. there are many possible reasons for your symptoms and they need exploring. if you get no where with a rheumatology don’t give up and ask to see a neurologist as well.

the stiff and painful muscles and back pain may be because of nerve trouble. a neurologist can order a nerve conduction test and also an MRI of your spine. if there is still no answer then there is always the pain clinic for patients with chronic pain.

are you on pain relief? if not why not? i am on strong pain relief everyday including buprenorphine and morphine. my illness is still unnamed but is similar to MS. strong muscle spasms are very painful and i find the muscle relaxant tizanidine helps a lot. diazepam can be used but is obviously addictive. baclofen is another effective muscle relaxant that a GP can prescribe. amitriptyline is an antidepressant that helps with pain and sleep.

if you still end up no where ask your GP to refer you to Bath Royal National Hospital For Rheumatic Diseases. after a consultation they often invite patients back for a residential stay to diagnose and work out a treatment plan. when i was there there were patients all the way from scotland. it is a national hospital open to anyone for neuro rehabilitation, rheumatology, chronic pain and chronic fatigue syndrome/ME.

i know you’re tired and it’s been a year already but you need to find answers. keep a record of all your test results, get recommendations for who to see and which drugs to try, research possible conditions and treatments. if a treatment is approved by NICE you have the right to receive it. soon there won’t be an NHS so get x-rayed, scanned and prodded while you can.

if you honestly can’t work you need to find a specialist to support your claim for disability benefits. if you can work carry on as it’s the best thing for you mentally. if it gets tough maybe reduce your hours slightly. Disability Living Allowance is paid even if you work.

lastly if you have a camcorder do your own sleep study. if you are waking up often in the night because of your pain you have discovered the reason for your fatigue. i also recommend seeing an osteopath. best wishes, A x

Chosen Answer:

In my opinion you should talk to a doctor about this it is not safe to tell you what kinds are best for you only you and your doctor can decide that but i know the pain you are going through but until you talk to a doctor the only thing i can recommend to you is a OTC pain reliever

How long does it take for whiplash to go away? How do you alleviate the pain?

I was rear-ended by a car going about 25 mph last week. There is still so much pain in my neck and back, especially my left shoulder blade. Neither ice nor heat help. I’m taking a prescription pain-killer and anti-inflammatory medicine for the muscles, but the pain isn’t going away. What to do?!

Chosen Answer:

Whiplash can be difficult to treat.

Sometimes the major symptom(s) won’t hit till much later as in weeks or months!

In the mean time, you may benefit from some passive range of motion several times a day to keep the ligaments from healing “in-correctly”.

I’m fairly young, so this should heal fast and not hurt as badly, but it’s hurting A LOT. What can I do to make it hurt less?!
