How do you deal with neck pain? I have a pain in the neck ,literally. Does anything help?

I have tried Physio and heat, pain killers, muscle relaxants. I do have a habit of sleeping on my stomach that doesn’t help and my work is very physical. What works for you?
I would stop sleeping on my stomach btw but I get into that position when I am asleep.

Chosen Answer:

A massage. I too sleep on my stomach and carry a lot of tension in my shoulders. It is why I am up late tonight, woke up with a neck ache. What I do if a good massage is not available is head down to the mall and sit in one of the chairs that give you a massage. They are to die for girl. :)

What is the cause and cure for lower back pain?

Help me to rid this throbbing back pains, please i need no medicine or pain killers.

Chosen Answer:

It could be anything, nerve problem, muscle problem or a number of other things…It is impossible to answer your question without knowing what the actual problem is. Go to your Doctor and have him/her send you for a CT or MRI scan.
The wrong type of treatment or exercises can do more damage than good and you need to have your back properly diagnosed prior to ANY treatment.
Again you do need to have a CT / MRI scan or such done before allowing ANYONE to touch your back.

Get a professional opinion from the radiologist doing the scan in his report to your doctor and then go from there.

I have this weird muscle pain can anyone help?

So its not really a strong pain, its more of a nagging pain/soreness that I am experiencing under my left tricep muscle and deltoid. It’s not strong enough to stop me from working out, but only happens when I am working out. I lift 6 days a week, 2 hours a day. It doesn’t feel like its the muscle itself, but rather under the muscle, its weird.

I have calf muscle pain for last 40 years. It manifests more when I am sleeping or not working. Can you help?

It is better when crape bandage is tied on the muscle or when I tighten the muscles. The later is temporary. But with bandage I can sleep peacefully. Please suggest a homeo remedy.

Chosen Answer:

It’s nothing to do with what was put there. If it was about what was not in our diet, our forefathers would never have made it across the prairies going a year and a half just to get their first crop in. That would have ended all wagons going west.
Pull that leg into your lap and with both hands and about an inch apart, clamp onto the big cord on the back of your leg and pinch on it or press it as hard as you can and hold that pressure. After 45 seconds, slowly raise your toes as far as you can and hold it there. Now release the pressure but hold your foot in that position for one minute.
To release that muscle is interesting, it took me a while to figure that one out. Here is the best way I have found. While sitting, take both your thumbs and press in on the top part of that calf muscle and then pull that leg back so it’s under your chair with your thumbs on top of the muscle. Relax now, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. Hold and wait, it’s a big muscle and can take a few minutes to release completely. See if that does it for you. If not let me know and I will try to help.

Is there an over the counter medicine that would help my muscle pain from fibromyalgia?

Something that would help me like somas do? or is there an herb? i am having a bad day with this pain. i mean something that i don’t have to see the doctor to get? thanks

Chosen Answer:

If you are open minded for alternative methods, you could research Reiki. It’s helped people with pain. There is also hypnosis which should be able to help.

I try to stay away from pharmaceuticals because of the side effects, but there are good herbs.

what is causing all the back pain, muscle spasms, and tingling in my back?

for about five years now i have been having really bad upper back and neck pain, tingling in upper back, and muscle spasms. and ive noticed my 18 yr old son is complaining of the same muscle pain in his upper back. we both get knots in them when they hurt. can anybody help?

Chosen Answer:

First, if you’ve been having this back and neck pain, etc. for that long, you should go see your doctor right away. Some other possible remedies would be back stretching exercises and back strengthening exercises. Most of us do not maintain our backs very well, and this is essential in reducing problems. Having strong stomach muscles also helps support the back. There are very easy and quick exercises you can do that can help alleviate back pain fairly quickly.

It sounds like you may have a pinched nerve, as well. Re: muscle spasms, potassium can help this a lot, as well as other natural remedies. Bananas are one great source of potassium.

Another big possibility is posture. If you have poor posture, this puts a lot of strain on your back and neck. There are a lot of natural pain remedies, therapies, and back pain medicine or relaxants available, as well.

Dehydration is another big cause of back pain, or pain in general. I would make sure you’re drinking plenty of ‘hydrating’ liquids, not just coffee, soda, etc.

You might try some of the suggestions above and see if it will help. But, if this continues, you need to see your doctor. There can be a lot of causes of this, and it will only get worse if you don’t proactively work toward a solution.
