If i had a miscarrage and im still getting abdominal pain and lower back pain is that normal?

I think I had a miscarriage I was only 3 weeks but I didn’t know if I was pregnant but I started spotting two days ago and then yesterday I started getting bad abdominal pain and started feeling shaky and ever since yesterday IV been bleeding a lot and a lot if blood clots have been coming out. Did I really have a miscarriage and the pain is still there is that normal?

Chosen Answer:

We don’t know if you had a miscarriage. This could be normal menstrual cramps. The cramps are caused by contractions of the uterus before and during your period. The contractions cause the uterus to press against blood vessels which briefly cuts off the oxygen supply to the muscle tissue of the uterus, which is what caused the pain.

Some things you can do are to avoid salt, caffeine, smoking and alcohol which can all make them worse. Rest when you need to. Massage your back and abdomen. Use a heating pad or hot water bottle to apply heat or take a warm bath or shower – heat can often relieve the cramps. And get more exercise as a general rule. Women who exercise regularly tend to have less trouble with cramps.

You will find more information here.

If you think you did have a miscarriage you should probably check with your doctor.

How do I distinguish lower back pain from prostate problems?

Have already seen urologist, psa test clean, ultra sound clean, went through 60 days of ciproflaxocin, I’ve always had back issues but don’t want to confuse the two if I’m missing the signs of pain and assuming there not just spinal issues ….side note exray on spine shows t1 & 2 out of alignment along with lower three vertebrae and currently seeing chiropractor (7-8 times) just not seeing relief of pain & muscle spasms

Chosen Answer:

When turning and tossing in bed and the sides of your back and middle are hurting is becuase of the stiffness your body probably endure. Masage would do good and for the prostate issue, well what i know is that you probably feel like going to the bathroom often but you come out empty and if thats the case i would inssit for you to see your doctor.

What is the cause and cure for lower back pain?

Help me to rid this throbbing back pains, please i need no medicine or pain killers.

Chosen Answer:

It could be anything, nerve problem, muscle problem or a number of other things…It is impossible to answer your question without knowing what the actual problem is. Go to your Doctor and have him/her send you for a CT or MRI scan.
The wrong type of treatment or exercises can do more damage than good and you need to have your back properly diagnosed prior to ANY treatment.
Again you do need to have a CT / MRI scan or such done before allowing ANYONE to touch your back.

Get a professional opinion from the radiologist doing the scan in his report to your doctor and then go from there.

Why do I have pain in both of my lower rib cages?

For some reason, every once in a while I get pain in my lower rib cages for some reason. It hurts when i talk, or when I try to flex my abdominal muscles. The days before theses pains i usually go through a lot of exercise such as running, could this be the cause? Should i go to the doctor or will it go away on its own?

Chosen Answer:

The pain could be from costochondritis– an injury to the rib cartilage. Patients often come into the ER with it. You can get it in the cartilage in the sternum or the sides of your ribs. Can happen during lifting something. If this is the cause the pain and injury will get better but try not to reinjure it. Try a rib belt if you can get ahold of one to see if the rib support helps. How to remedy back pain with sit-ups and crunches?

I started exercising and have been doing sit-ups and crunches, but I get a nice amount of pain in my lower back. Is this temporary or permanent? Are there exercises I can do (without equipment) to improve my lower back muscles and make this pain go away?

Chosen Answer:

Swimming and walking are the way to go to strengthen your back muscles and core muscles. Yoga, Qi Gong, and Pilates are also very helpful with core strengthening.

Do NOT do sit ups and crunches….they are terrible for the back, especially the lower back. Most physical therapists don’t even do these anymore because of the pain and injury to the lower back.

I also highly recommend an acupuncture by a licensed Chinese medicine doctor.

can a bad back cause cramping of muscles?

For several months now i have had moderate cramps in my calf muscles and pain in the lower back, i have a physically demanding job and was wondering if my back pain could cause my leg cramps.

It could be anything, nerve problem, muscle problem, kidneys or a number of other things…It is impossible to answer your question without knowing what the actual problem is. Ask your Doctor for a referral for a CT or MRI scan.

Pain that starts in the lower left abdomen and radiates all the way up through the neck?

The pain is sharp, it starts somewhere around the beltline, then radiates upward through the ribcage along the left side of the body and into the neck. The pain comes with deep breaths or quick movements, and is getting worse. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Our first though was just a pulled muscle, but as the pain gets worse we are wondering. The symptoms are happening to a 34 yr old male, no previous conditions to speak of, and no recent activity that he can remember that would have caused this pain. Help please!

Chosen Answer:

ER NOW Chew 2 asprin on the way this can be symptoms of a heart problem. People think all heart pain is exactly in the left side of the chest. It isn’t. It can manifest in abdomen, neck, arm. The quicker this is checked out the better. If it is heart related it could be a blockage or a warning that a heart attack is trying to happen or likely to happen. If it is heart related fast diagnosis and treatment could save his life and keep an actual heart attack from happening.

It could be a lot of other things but good sense and sound medical practice says check out the most serious and urgent possibility first and work from there.

Pain lower right side of back upper buttock?

I have pain on my right side of by back, its lower back and upper buttock, i feel like i pulled a muscle, i have pain when i sit at work and cross my right leg over my left, its painful when i drive also and im using my right leg on pedal, is it a pulled muscle or a nerve? When should i seek help from dr?

Chosen Answer:

The best advice about the doctors, if the pain starts to interfere with your life see a doctor. It’s possible you are having muscle spams either from a pulled muscle or some other injury. When you hurt your back the bodies response is to tighten your back muscles, and for some reason they spasm. It hurts, but can be treated. If you can lay on a heating pad ,as hot as your skin can handle, for 20-30 minutes every couple of hours, and take Tylenol as directed. If this doesn’t help or the pain gets worse go see your doctor, or if you can, skip right to the orthopedic spine specialist. Don’t see a chiropractor, they will turn a pulled muscle into slipped discs, popping your spine will not help you, and then you will have to go and see a spine specialist to fix what the chiropractor messed up.
