I was a car accident and a car hit the passenger side of my car. I didn’t hit anything but my arm hurts.
I got a muscle relaxer and pain med from the Dr.
It really hurt before the Dr but now its a little better but till hurts.
I know it will take a long time to heal but how long? It was a severe strain.

tissues take 6 wks to heal;; but they don’t just ‘magically’ heal & then your problems are resolved;; we, as humans, tend to ignore malfunction to a limb because we just NEED to get back to what we were doing before;; do this right, & you’ll be feeling better in about 3-4 wks…not that it’s healing sooner, but just on time;; ya gotta get the info from your doc on when you can start activity to this arm & WHAT TYPE of activity you can perform;; gentle is the key..progression is the smart way, & not re-injuring will allow you to heal on time;; wish I could help ya more, but your doc knows the specs..contact him with all questions you have..his medical assistants can help you too…good luck!! but slow & steady always wins the race..oh, & btw, it helps to assist this arm against gravity..so if you are lifting it in any way, shape or form, help with the other arm until you can get this pain down..ESP under your covers @ night…good luck!!

While on high blood pressure medicine would it hurt to take a muscle relaxer?
My dad is currently on blood pressure medicine and cholesterol medicine. He recently pulled something in his back and can verily walk. Would it affect him if he was to take a muscle relaxer to relieve the pain. He wont go to the doctor for he dont want to miss work. Thanks for any suggestions and comment.

Call your pharmacist and ask them the question, tell them what he is taking for the bp and cholesterol and ask if it would be ok to take the muscle relaxer, give them the name of it and if there would be any interactions.
In the mean time your dad can try either heat from a heating pad and if that doens’t help he could try an ice pack, 10 minutes on 10 minutes off, he should try the ice first to try to alleviate the swelling, heat would be to relax the muscles. But its one or the other, not both ok, depending on which one makes him feel better.
he will have to be rather stationary for awhile to give this time to heal up.
